Curapipe’s patented Trenchless Automated Leakage Repair (TALR) is an internal pipeline leakage repair solution for multiple leaks in water distribution networks. TALR is especially suited for pipelines with substantial leakage from multiple sources of leaks. For example, these sources could be externally corrosion-induced pinholes, lead-run cast iron joints, longitudinal cracks in PVC pipes and in ferrous pipes caused by hoop stress, split bell caused by transverse stresses on the pipe joint, circumferential breaks due to longitudinal thermal contraction, displaced ‘O’ rings on PVC joints, failed welds on MDPE joints and leaky service connections.
TALR is suitable for a wide range of pipe materials. As a stand-alone system, once launched into the treated pipe section it self-detects water leaks and automatically seals and cures them. An isolated pipe section of mains and service pipes is a requirement. Actual levels of leakage are measured before and after the repair.
